The Voice season 13 has officially begun, and the talent from week one is casting a hopeful forecast for the rest of the season. I’m a cynic at heart, but I found myself really enjoying some of the contestants from these two episodes, and I can’t wait to see what week two has to offer. While there were the occasional duds in the mix this past week (as there always are), as a whole there are a few singers that I feel have really separated themselves from the pack, and are early frontrunners to go deep into the game.
Below I’ve listed my favorite three singers from week one. These are contestants that I feel went above and beyond the rest, and have established themselves as frontrunners. Check them out and let me know if you agree with my list, or think there’s someone that’s missing from it.
3- Esera Tuaolo- Esera was quite a pleasant surprise for me. Watching his touching introductory package, I found myself worrying that he’d be the contestant this year who is carried along through the competition because of his story. Imagine my surprise then when I heard him sing and was blown away. Esera completely backs up his story with a phenomenal voice and talent, and I think he could put a serious dent in the competition this season.
2- Ashland Craft- This country girl’s voice is super impressive. There’s just something about her demeanor, composure, and raw talent that really drew me in to her performance. I think she made a very wise choice going with Miley Cyrus as her coach, and together they should be a force to be reckoned with. If she makes it to the live rounds and keeps up this momentum that she’s quickly building for herself, she could be a serious threat to win.
1- Brooke Simpson- Holy cow, this girl is really freaking talented. Perusing through the list of contestants that would be appearing on this season, I originally disregarded Brooke as a fodder contestant, but now I’m eating my words. She’s my number one favorite contestant from week one, and is someone who I’ll definitely be rooting for this season. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do next.
So those are my three favorite singers from week one. Who are yours? Was there a contestant that you think didn’t deserve to advance to the Battle Rounds? Which coach do you think has the strongest team? Let me know in the comments below!
Until we meet again in another post, later!
